Membership in Village Mosaïque Church

On February 22, 2026, we had the great pleasure of welcoming Marie Torello as a church member. While participation in our activities is always open to everyone, and anyone who takes part is considered a “villager”, becoming a church member is by application. It’s not a question of “joining a club”, but rather of honoring one’s intention to continue growing spiritually in community. At the same time, the community renews its commitment to growing together as individuals and as a collective. Membership is a way of signifying that we are not making this journey alone.

Who can become a member?

Anyone who has been baptized in a Christian tradition can become a member of The United Methodist Church (we do not rebaptize, as we recognize the integrity of baptism in other branches of the Christian family. This is important for our ecumenical relations). Anyone interested can contact Erika or Iris, who will be happy to discuss the matter.

What happens during the celebration?

During a Sunday service, we welcome the person as a member. Traditional membership greetings (or declarations of intent) include five themes:

1) Pray for the local community and the wider human family,
2) Be present to one another,
3) Contribute with our talents and gifts,
4) Serve others according to our abilities,
5) Integrate our values and convictions into our daily lives.

Candidates affirm their agreement with the foundations of Christianity and declare their desire to follow Christ’s ways of justice and compassion.

What do we become members of?

When a person becomes a member of Village Mosaïque, he or she also becomes a member of The United Methodist Church, a global network of churches supporting spiritual formation, humanitarian aid and justice work at local, regional and global levels. This network offers opportunities for practical training, scholarships and encounters with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

To be a member of the Village Mosaïque church is to make a collective commitment to walk together as children of God, regardless of our affiliations, status or other particularities.
